Mobile App/Mobile Website, what B2C Industry Needs?

You know your business needs a mobile presence, but how to best offer that experience — without breaking the bank (Christina Warren).

A recent survey has shown that 80% of users ratify apps over mobile websites due to convenience, speed and ease of use. Withal, when it comes to deciding which one is better for your business, it’s always crucial to make sure that you should always consider the pros and cons based on your requirements.

Mobile App/Mobile Website, what B2C Industry Needs?

I remember flaky times in 2007 when this market was blooming and folk just download anything from anywhere and from anyone. It can sound bizarre, but that time mobile application development companies and developers were building apps and releasing it without any preparation such as ASO, PR, SEO, SMM and other related tasks; and still they earned like anything from them, but the scenario has changed drastically now.

Either you are opting for a mobile app or a mobile website, your needs will depend upon a number of factors, counting target audiences, available budget, intended purpose and required features.

Mobile Websites:

Consistently, the initial step in developing a mobile plan is devising a mobile responsive website. They are lesser expensive, less time engrossing, and can be very easy to use.  Most of the businesses only require a well optimized mobile site to launch and maintain their mobile strategy which can be a great asset to any brand, particularly when a business simply needs to continue their brand presence on a mobile device in a way that conveys important information.

Mobile App:

Capitalist should first ask himself, “Do I really need an app at all?” Say, businesses that do in-person consultations or over the phone, probably do not need a mobile app. However, if you have a web based experience requiring user log in, account creation, data management, orders, payment, tracking, reporting, deliveries etc., an app is definitely a good investment.

Apps are better for artifact use, because they are easier to fire, just one click away and the app logo on phone is a constant reminder of the brand.

Companies should consider that developing and maintaining good apps is costly. Working with app versions could be very annoying, because you need to upgrade the apps’ new version, make it compatible with latest OS releases and do quality analysis for the app for every small change you wish to implement. With websites, believe me you can have it live within no time comparatively.

For my clique, the apps results much better because of the nature of users, who want their live data right away.

When deployed correctly, mobile apps can help generate greater value for a business with users than a mobile website can. Staying in closer contact with target audience will allow businesses to create more sales, trust, social media awareness and brand recognition.

Conclusion
  • 60% users don’t download apps frequently
  • 80% of app usage is for entertainment purposes
  • 90%+ deliberately turn to the website rather than the app while making purchase decisions

The question is still the same that how sure are you on the need of an app?

Yes, B2C anyday needs mobile presence. Mobile web is a must have and if you have recurring customers then a mobile will be a great source for generating recurring revenue and branding.
